Grey board — also sold as grey cardboard, white lined chipboard (WLC) or GT — has a core made from recovered fibre, which is why the reverse side is grey or light brown. A white-lined grade adds a thin bleached white top layer and coating so the visible face can be printed.
The economics are simple: recycled-fibre board costs roughly 20–35% less than virgin white cardboard, and is available in higher thicknesses. Where the reverse side of the pack is never seen, grey board is usually the rational choice.

Sheet size is normally 787×1092 mm, and we can cut to size. Grain direction is confirmed at order because it affects creasing and folding.

White cardboard (SBS/FBB) is 100% virgin bleached pulp, white throughout, with excellent print quality and food-contact grades. Grey board has a recycled core, is 20-35% cheaper, and is used where the reverse side is not visible.
White lined chipboard typically runs 250-600 GSM at 0.4-1.0 mm. Fully grey board is supplied in higher thicknesses, 0.5-3.0 mm, for rigid boxes and book binding.
Not for direct food contact. Because the core is recycled fibre, grey board is used for secondary packaging. For food-contact packaging choose virgin white cardboard or a food-grade lined board.
